David Johnson, CGCS

Director of Agronomy

David Johnson accepted the Head Golf Course Superintendent position at HPCC in 1997. David is a Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he received degrees in Turfgrass Management, Ornamentals and Landscape Technology. His previous experience includes stints at Cabarrus Country Club and North Ridge Country Club. He is a past president of the Piedmont Golf Course Superintendents Association and helped establish the local Give A Kid A Club Campaign, which provides access to golf equipment and instruction for underprivileged children. David has also volunteered at numerous golf championships including multiple US Opens and Women’s Opens, Wyndham Championships, Wells Fargo Championships and the PGA Championship. He resides in High Point with his wife Kelly and their two sons, Riley and Nash.
